A pesar de su uso, su significado original es: compañero de cama o de pieza. No obstante esto, la mayor parte de los colombianos en la actualidad usan el término "parce" para expresar cercanía y amistad con alguien.
Ejemplo : "Huy chinito, usted es mi parce no cierto? Présteme quinientas lucas pues que la próxima semana se los pago!"
